The Hurricanes blew their Super Rugby title aspirations in stunning fashion, going down 44-29 to the Lions in Johannesburg late last night, despite leading 22-3 at one stage in the first half.
In doing so, the Hurricanes gifted the South Africans a home final for the first time in their history, as they prepare to host the travelling Crusaders at Ellis Park next weekend.
While Lions fans will be rejoicing at the prospect of their side claiming their maiden Super Rugby crown, Hurricanes supporters have little to celebrate with back-to-back titles now out of the question.
Many of these Canes fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts following what can only be described as a capitulation from their team.
Some directed the blame towards the officials, while others were more methodical and gracious when it came to accepting defeat.
