The Kiwis who predicted the Super Rugby finalists

Who in New Zealand could have guessed the Hurricanes and the Highlanders would be meeting in this Saturday's eagerly anticipated Super Rugby final.

It turns out 175 Kiwis did and TAB expect the final in Wellington to emulate their turnover from an All Blacks Test Match.

Two punters were on board early doors when the bet originally opened @ $251 before it was eventually closed @ $3.

The most successful bet was one lucky punter collecting returns of $2,550, who gambled $50 @ $51 after round 11.

The highest returns for an individual were $5,500, who gambled $500 @ $11 after round 4.

One punter from the Bay Islands has already bet $10,000 on the Hurricanes and TAB makes them favourites @ $1.42. They were crowned minor premiers and only lost two matches all season.

The Highlanders finished fourth in the regular season, and lost twice to the Hurricanes, but their 35-17 win away to the Waratahs will give them belief and some momentum. They're available as outsiders at $2.70.

The final at Westpac Stadium in Wellington kicks off this Saturday at 7:35pm.
