Air New Zealand is putting on additional flights between Dunedin and Wellington after noticing high demand from fans keen to see next weekend's Super Rugby final at the Cake Tin.
Chief Marketing and Customer Officer Mike Tod said they had seen strong pressure for travel from supporters of both the Hurricanes and Highlanders, but services between the two cities was particularly high.
"In line with this we've secured an additional 50 seat return service from Dunedin to Wellington on Saturday and an extra 68 seat return service to get supporters home on Sunday."
The additional services will go on sale tomorrow morning.
Mr Tod said it was a bit tricky putting on the extra seats at such short notice, primarily due to the beginning of the school holiday season, however it was such a big occasion Air New Zealand was keen to pull out all the stops to get fans to the action.
