The New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) is investigating an incident involving a Blues rugby player.
In a statement today, NZRU general manager professional rugby Neil Sorensen said an investigation had been instigated in conjunction with the Blues following an incident last weekend.
"Taniela Moa was involved in an incident, where a bottle was thrown, at a rugby club in Auckland last Saturday afternoon," Sorenson said.
"We have started our own misconduct process, together with Blues team management, which will ascertain the facts and determine any penalty deemed appropriate."
The Collective Employment Agreement (CEA) between the NZRU and its professional players includes a formal process for investigating any incidents of misconduct.
The NZRU and Blues will make further comment at the completion of the misconduct hearing, which the statement said is scheduled to take place "in due course".
