The five Super 14 rugby franchises are learning today which players are up for grabs in the draft as they put the final touches to their squads for next year.
Hurricanes coach Colin Cooper will have six All Blacks unavailable for first half of the competition and will need the draft to plug the gaps.
Cooper says at least that means he will have preference when it comes to bargaining for draft players.
However, he says the Crusaders have one more All Black away than his side so if there is a gap in both teams, the Crusaders will get first pick.
Colin Cooper says there is sure to be a cat fight for certain players in the draft. Cooper says he will be looking seriously at the draft to bolster his loose forward and half back ranks.
One player who appears to be in demand, should he make the draft, is Auckland flanker Onosa'i Tololima-Auva'a, with both the Hurricanes and Crusaders in need of back up loose fowards.
The five Super 14 squads are named on Friday.
