A group of Auckland's aspiring rugby players had a lesson from the Super 15 champion Chiefs to raise funds for charity yesterday.
Chiefs players Patrick Osborne, Asaeli Tikoirotuma, Bundee Aki, Pauliasi Manu and Maritino Nemani were joined by Blues players Angus Ta'avao and Ofa Tu'ungafasi to run the training clinic at the Northcote Birkenhead Rugby Club.
The day-long event for primary and secondary school-aged children raised funds for Edufiji Kidz Charitable Trust which donates resources to early childhood education in underdeveloped Pacific nations.
Other rugby stars, including Dan Carter, Aaron Cruden, and Liam Messam, and singer Stan Walker, have made videos pledging their support for the cause on the Edufiji Kidz Charitable Trust Facebook page.
