It looks as if Jamie Joseph will be coaching the Highlanders next year.
The Dominion Post is reporting Joseph has been offered the job with the southern franchise.
Glen Moore left the Highlanders at the end of the Super 14 after a dismal tenure.
If Joseph signs up, It means Wellington will be without a coach a week out from the start of the national provincial rugby competition.
Wellington Rugby CEO Greg Peters is on holiday but issued a statement saying he is well aware of developments.
