All Blacks halfback Piri Weepu has stated his desire to stay with the Blues another season.
After a dreadful opening season with the Auckland franchise, it was widely reported the World Cup winner wanted to return to the Hurricanes.
However, Weepu says he owes the Blues and has no plans to return to Wellington.
"It was basically, if the offer was offered, if there was something put on the table, it was something I would definitely consider. I am a Wellingtonian but the Blues have been good to me, they've put up with a lot of stuff with me this year and I guess I've got nowhere else to really go and I'd rather stay here.''
Weepu says he will stay with the Blues regardless of who the coach is next season.
