Hurricanes halfback Piri Weepu has been cleared of a serious ankle injury and will play against the Waratahs in tomorrow's virtual Super 14 rugby quarterfinal in Sydney.
Weepu put a scare through the camp yesterday when he limped out of training and was sent for a medical assessment.
But tests revealed only bruising and a Hurricanes spokesman today said there was no doubt that Weepu would play.
The Hurricanes have their captain's run before flying to Sydney this afternoon.
No decision had yet been made on the bracketed players on the bench, the spokesman said.
Midfielder Jason Kawau was bracketed with Willie Ripia, with Kawau still being monitored after suffering a head knock in their win over the Reds.
