The All Black centre is being talked about as a potential first five-eighth for the Blues in the Super 14 against the Stormers this weekend, after his second half performance against the Force.
Regular pivot Nick Evans suffered concussion in last weekend's loss to the Western Force and is being given until later in the week to prove he has fully recovered.
Toeava says if given the chance it could be a great opportunity to add another dimension to his game.
However, he points out that he has had little experience in the number 10 jersey since his school days and would have to talk a lot more than usual to control the game.
Lachie Munro is also another possible replacement.
