Sonny Bill Williams was ushered into the Chiefs' Eden Park changing room on Saturday night to celebrate their victory over the Blues.
The former All Black and Chiefs midfielder, who has switched back to the NRL to play for the Sydney Roosters, took advantage of a weekend off to visit friends and family, and spend time catching up with his former teammates, including Liam Messam and Tim Nanai-Williams.
Messam tweeted a picture of himself and Williams, with the Chiefs loose forward holding the trophy given to his team for winning the New Zealand conference.
The Chiefs are hoping that Williams plans to return next year after he played a starring role in their inaugural championship season.
Williams isn't contracted past this year but is rumoured to favour re-signing with the Roosters before making a return to rugby and the Chiefs in time for the 2015 World Cup and Rio Olympics a year later where he could figure in the sevens squad.
