Promising Waikato centre Richard Kahui has signed with the New Zealand Rugby Union until the end of 2011, it was announced today.
Kahui is a among a group of six players to commit to New Zealand rugby for the near future.
Kahui's Waikato captain Tom Willis has re-signed until the end of 2008, while Otago prop Chris King, Wellington first-five Jimmy Gopperth, Waikato midfielder Dwayne Sweeney and Waikato Lock Toby Lynn all signed until the end of 2009.
Kahui, 22, had a stellar 2006 season, representing New Zealand Maori at the Churchill Cup while also finishing as the Air New Zealand Cup's top try-scorer.
