The table topping Chiefs will have to do without their star All Black winger for their entire South African Super 14 sojourn.
Coach Ian Foster had hoped to get Sitiveni Sivivatu back for next week's match against the Stormers in Cape Town, but says his shoulder is not ready.
"We're doing our best with the rehab and are hoping it's going to come right in the next couple of weeks, so we're now targeting the game against the Hurricanes early next month for his comeback," Foster said.
Sivivatu had already been ruled out of this weekend's match against the Bulls before this latest setback.
