Chiefs' hooker and last year's Samoan World Cup captain Mahonri Schwalger has re-signed with the franchise.
Schwalger, who is in arguably the best form of his career, has agreed to a two year contract with the Chiefs.
Coach Dave Rennie said he was pleased to retain a player of Schwalger's quality: "Mahonri's wealth of experience, skill and leadership qualities are highly valuable to our team."
Schwalger, 32, said he was happy with his decision to stay with the current Super Rugby leaders.
"I'm really enjoying my rugby, the coaching and the Chiefs environment. The body feels great and I know I still have plenty of good rugby left to play."
