Hurricanes coach Mark Hammett has said exciting flanker Ardie Savea will get plenty of opportunities during the Super Rugby season but it won't be this week after he was again named on the bench for his side's game against the Brumbies in Wellington on Friday night.
Savea, an apprentice All Black last year, missed the Hurricanes' opening 27-9 loss to the Sharks in Durban and then had a cameo off the bench during last week's 19-18 loss to the Stormers.
Despite blindside flanker Faifili Levave being ruled out with injury this week, Hurricanes wider training group member Adam Hill has been named to start in the No 6 jersey.
Hill is one of two changes to the Hurricanes' starting XV with James Marshall coming in at fullback ahead of Marty Banks who drops to the reserves.
Hurricanes: James Marshall, Cory Jane, Conrad Smith (captain), Hadleigh Parkes, Julian Savea, Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara, Blade Thomson, Jack Lam, Adam Hill, Mark Reddish, Jeremy Thrush, John Schwalger, Dane Coles, Ben Franks. Reserves: Motu Matu'u, Chris Eves, Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, James Broadhurst, Ardie Savea, Chris Smylie, Alapati Leiua, Marty Banks.
