SANZAAR's pointed out the obvious while giving nothing away about the success of its meeting in Singapore this week.
The New Zealand, South Africa, Australia and Argentina rugby unions have met to discuss the future of Super Rugby and the Rugby Championship.
In a two-sentence media release, SANZAAR says themeeting was "very productive".
It says the discussions are challenging due to the complexities of the four individual markets across multiple time zones and the jurisdictions in which they operate.
The move to split the competition into conferences was controversial when it was first introduced in 2011.
"I like the idea of a full round robin where you play everyone once, but we can't continue with this conference system moving forward," told RadioLIVE.
