KEY POINTS:
Two serious trials in New Zealand for rugby's new laws have had mostly positive results.
The Blues have played an inter-squad match in Auckland, while the Crusaders had a high scoring 55-33 victory over the Hurricanes in Motueka.
Test referee Steve Walsh controlled the Blues match and admits he found it tough. He says it certainly was not natural for him, as he was confused at times having to alternate between the old and new laws.
Walsh says it will take a few games to bed in the changes.
This afternoon the Chiefs and the Highlanders get their first taste of the new laws in their pre-season match in Invercargill.
