The Blues are already low on playing numbers and they look set to loose another with news flanker Luke Braid has been cited for alleged foul play in their 27-17 defeat to the Stormers in Cape Town this morning.
Braid was cited after striking Stormers player Nizaam Carr with his elbow and forearm at the back of the neck while on the ground in the 62nd minute of the match. The citing commissioner said the incident met the red card threshold for foul play, suggesting Braid will pick up a ban.
The Blues were already missing All Blacks Jerome Kaino (shoulder), Anthony Boric (neck), Isaia Toeava (hip) and Rudi Wulf (shoulder) as well as George Moala (shoulder) and David Raikuna (hamstring) through injury and Rene Ranger (suspended), Tony Woodcock and Michael Hobbs (Both unavailable) for the Stormers match, although Woodcock will join the squad on their return from South Africa.
The Blues, who have won only one of their four matches, host the Hurricanes at Eden Park on Friday night.
