KEY POINTS:
Rugby Players' Association boss Rob Nichol is mystified about the origins of a Rugby News story claiming three Blues players want out from the Super 14 franchise.
The story, which quotes Nichol, said Ali Williams, Joe Rokocoko and Tony Woodcock want to look elsewhere for playing contracts.
That has enraged the NZRU and left the Players' Association mystified.
Under current regulations, Super 14 franchises have dibs on players within their member unions and Nichol said as far as he is concerned Woodcock and Rokocoko are contracted to the Blues and happy to be there.
He thinks the confusion stems from Williams' ongoing negotiations about his playing future, but he does not know how the story came about, despite being quoted in it.
Nichol said it is well documented that Williams had issues with the Blues but where that ends up is subject to him taking a new contract or not.
He added from what he can understand from a number of people he has talked to, there is no basis at all to the story and he has heard no reports from players that they want to leave.
Nichol says if players are unhappy with their contracts they can go through employment channels.
