Blues midfielder George Moala has been found guilty of serious misconduct by New Zealand Rugby and has agreed to 40 hours of community service.
Moala was recently granted a discharge without conviction after being found guilty of assault with intent to injure over an Auckland bar brawl in December 2012.
New Zealand Rugby's general manager of rugby Neil Sorensen said: "We have concluded that George's conduct and the subsequent damage to the reputation of George, the Blues and rugby amounts to serious misconduct.
"George accepts this and in an endeavour to pay back the support he has received from the Blues and New Zealand Rugby, he has offered to spend 40 hours delivering community and education services to the rugby community to help others avoid the situation in which he found himself.
"New Zealand Rugby has accepted George's offer and we will work with him to ensure his message reaches our young talent and will encourage George to share his experiences to help influence other young men, in a positive way."
