Blues first five Michael Hobbs has received Super Rugby's first off-field yellow card, after a dangerous tackle during the Blues' loss to the Crusaders last night.
Hobbs was committed a high tackle on Crusaders midfielder Ryan Crotty 28 minutes into the game at Eden Park, an incident for which the rookie five-eighth was penalised by referee Chris Pollock.
However, after reviewing the match footage, the SANZAR citing commissioner issued Hobbs an off-field yellow card, deeming the tackle very close to but not quite meeting the red card threshold for citings.
This is the first year in which players can be cited postgame under Super Rugby's new disciplinary procedures.
