All Blacks and Crusaders captain Richie McCaw is excited by fullback Israel Dagg's decision to join his team ahead of next year's Super 15.
Dagg has elected to move on from the struggling Highlanders franchise and pen a two year deal with the red and blacks.
McCaw says the addition of Dagg will strengthen his side significantly. He says they're lucky to sign a player with his sort of ability.
Dagg, 22, has played for the Highlanders for the last two seasons. He was selected for the All Blacks in June despite his team's 12-place finish in this year's Super 14.
He now joins a star-studded squad, which includes New Zealand captain Richie McCaw and first five-eighths Daniel Carter, at the Crusaders who have won the Super 12 or Super 14 titles seven times.
Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder said Dagg was "a special talent and we're sure he will fit in at the Crusaders very well."
