Former All Black Aaron Mauger has been appointed professional development manager with Canterbury Rugby and the Crusaders.
He comes into the role after a stint playing for English club Leicester which he joined after the 2007 World Cup.
Midfield back Mauger played 45 tests for the All Blacks, 88 times for the Crusaders and 42 times for Canterbury between 1999 and 2007.
Mauger replaces Dave Hewett, the current manager of Canterbury in the national provincial championship who will join the Crusaders coaching team of Todd Blackadder and Daryl Gibson at the end of the year.
