KEY POINTS:
The Crusaders may play a Super 14 rugby match against the Stormers in London.
Stormers chief executive Rob Wagner has confirmed the South African franchise is studying a proposal to move its 2008 home game against the Crusaders to Twickenham.
Crusaders chairman Bob Stewart said his franchise was interested in the idea although he emphasised it was "early days yet".
Approval would have to be granted by the New Zealand Rugby Union and Sanzar, the Super 14 organising body.
Stewart said the Crusaders, who are playing pre-season games in Melbourne and Sydney in the next week, were keen to "grow awareness of the brand" in overseas markets.
"Conceptually, an away game played in that part of the world (Britain), as part of the 2008 round robin, is very appealing and has been for some time," he told The Press newspaper today.
"But there's a lot of work to be done, certainly by the Stormers in the first instance, because, effectively, it's their game.
"I wouldn't say it's likely at this stage because of the amount of work that needs to be done, but it's in line with where we see the opportunities for the Crusaders."
