The Northern Territory has been the breeding ground for many of Australia's best AFL players. Rugby players, not so much.
That's about to change this year with three-quarter Will Chambers set to add a lot to an already promising Reds outfit. The former Melbourne Storm player, who already has an NRL premiership to his name (if you're allowed to count it), returned to rugby last season, but just as he was once more getting his feel for the code he was hit by injury.
The glimpses we saw last year were enough to confirm that after a year back in the game, he should be ready to display his best.
He's got all the physical attributes you want in a centre - big, fast and elusive - but he's also shown good vision and awareness of support players around him. There's a bit of Conrad Smith lurking there.
Working on the edges alongside Will Genia, Quade Cooper, Digby Ioane and others should provide the scope for him to play any game he wants, and I'd expect his Super 15 performances will see him a walk-up start for the Wallabies World Cup squad.
