KEY POINTS:
Queensland Reds rugby coach Eddie Jones has been fined A$10,000 ($11,200) for criticising referee Matt Goddard.
Jones, the former Wallabies' coach, pleaded guilty to several breaches of the code of conduct for the Super 14 governing body, Sanzar, in a telephone hook-up last night.
He rounded on Goddard after his team's 6-3 Super 14 rugby loss to the ACT Brumbies last weekend, describing the referee's second-half handling of the scrums in the Brisbane match as "ludicrous" and "disgraceful".
A Sanzar statement said: "After considering Eddie Jones' long service to the game, his plea of guilty, his undertaking to comply with the Sanzar code of conduct and his agreement to provide a written apology to Matt Goddard, he was fined A$10,000."
The money from the fine will be paid to the Spinal Injuries Association of Queensland within 28 days.
