Crusaders wing Zac Guildford will miss the start of the Super Rugby season with a hamstring strain.
The former All Black flyer twinged his hamstring in the 40-21 win over the Highlanders in Oamaru.
While the Crusaders are set to be without Guildford, the Blues may have to do without Luke McAlister for next week's clash.
McAlister was knocked unconscious in the 12-12 draw against the Chiefs in Pukekohe.
The injury aside, coach Pat Lam is pleased with his his side is tracking.
The competition kicks off on Friday night with the Hurricanes hosting the Highlanders.
