Crusaders' five-eighths Daniel Carter will parade his talents on Twickenham but his Sharks opposite will miss Monday's historic Super 15 clash.
Patrick Lambie is the leading points scorer in this year's expanded series but was injured during the Sharks' solitary last match loss to the Chiefs and needs surgery to place a pin in his finger.
He will undergo that operation soon and, according to coach John Plumtree, will miss about a month's rugby starting with the clash with the Crusaders in London.
The Sharks then play the Stormers and Lions in Durban before they have a bye.
Then they resume against the Hurricanes, again in Durban.
"If all goes well, he will be back after our bye week," said Plumtree.
Jacques-Louis Potgieter will take over at five-eighths in his first start for the Sharks after previous stints with the Bulls and Cheetahs.
The Sharks' only other injury concern is wing JP Pietersen and he will be assessed before the side fly north today.
