Hurricanes prop Tim Fairbrother has signed with the Western Force, opening the door for him to one day play for the Wallabies.
Fairbrother turned down more lucrative offers to play in Europe and has signed a two-and-a half year deal with the Perth-based Super 14 franchise.
The tighthead prop is eligible to play for the Wallabies through Australian grandparents but is not thinking about international rugby just yet.
"It's definitely crossed my mind, but you can't think too far ahead. All I'm thinking about now is playing well, because if I don't, I'll never get that chance".
Fairbrother will replace former Chiefs prop Ben Castle at the Force.
