Hurricanes chairman Brian Roche announced today that recruitment for the Hurricanes chief executive role will begin tomorrow.
The new role is the result of the recent review into the Wellington Rugby Football Union by its board.
It determined the need to separate the WRFU chief executive role into two positions, with the Hurricanes chief executive's job to focus on developing the commercial arm of Hurricanes rugby. The other role will look after grassroots rugby in Wellington.
Current chief executive James Te Puni confirmed following the review that he wouldn't apply for either job.
"The board is excited to be going to market at this time. This represents a new era for Super Rugby in the Hurricanes' region," Roche said.
