The first Highlanders team of the year has been named to play the Chiefs in a pre-season warm up rugby match on Saturday.
The game at 2.30pm at Rugby Park in Invercargill will be played in 20 minute quarters.
It was expected that all 27 players will get a run at some stage, the Highlanders said in a statement.
The match will be played under the new experimental law variations that will be trialed in this year's Super 14.
Halfback Jimmy Cowan has been named to captain for this game only. Cowan has played 43 games for the Highlanders since his debut in 2003.
Craig Newby and Jamie Mackintosh were not considered due to injury.
