Rugby: Highlanders suspended

The All Blacks flanker Adam Thomson and his Highlanders teamate, Michael Hobbs, have been suspended for the team's game against the Bulls in South Africa this weekend, after they breached a team curfew.

Highlanders coach Glenn Moore says the players didn't get back to the team hotel on time after last weekend's loss to the Stormers, but there was no other breach of team protocol.

Moore says while the behaviour was out of character for the pair, it was a straightforward decision to stand them down for a game.

Thomson and Hobbs, who's the son of New Zealand rugby union chairman Jock Hobbs, will stay with the team in Pretoria.
