Sir Graham Henry has been appointed technical advisor at the Blues.
Radio Sport understands Henry won't be a full time assistant coach but will occupy a similar role to what he had with the Blues in 2003, the last time the franchise won the title.
Henry is unlikely to travel with the side to overseas matches next year.
