Former All Black Zac Guildford will make his NSW Waratahs debut on the wing while ex-NRL flyer Reece Robinson has to settle for a bench spot in Saturday's Super Rugby round-one clash with the Queensland Reds.
New coach Daryl Gibson on Wednesday handed Waratahs debuts in his starting side to Guilford, young inside centre David Horwitz, and former Auckland Blues prop Angus Taavao.
However he preferred the experience of veteran utility Matt Carraro ahead of the promise of code switcher Robinson on the opposite wing to Guildford for the clash at Allianz Stadium.
In the forward pack, the impressive Taavao has relegated veteran Benn Robinson to a bench spot.
Kurtley Beale fills the playmaker role at five-eighth in the absence of the injured fellow Wallabies star Bernard Foley while Israel Folau is in his preferred position at fullback.
