KEY POINTS:
The Chiefs will be without captain Jono Gibbes for at least the next six weeks of the Super 14 rugby competition.
Gibbes is on crutches after tearing a hamstring during his side's 19-39 loss to the Hurricanes in Wellington last Friday.
Chiefs management today said Gibbes was expected to be ruled out for six weeks.
The Chiefs already have other injury concerns, with halfback Jamie Nutbrown's return another month away at least as he recovers from a medial ligament injury.
As well, midfield back Richard Kahui is battling an ankle injury which is being assessed on a daily basis.
