KEY POINTS:
Heat and the rigours of touring are behind three of the four changes to the Chiefs team for Saturday morning's Super 14 clash with the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.
Coach Ian Foster says their third game on tour with only a six day turnaround has prompted the injection of fresh legs into the starting line up.
Loose forwards Liam Messam and Tanerau Latimer replace Steven Bates and Marty Holah respectively, although Foster says he will use the experience of Bates and Holah to provide composure off the bench.
It is the second time in three matches in South Africa that Foster has decided to start with Latimer rather than Holah in the number seven jersey. At halfback, Jamie Nutbrown replaces Brendon Leonard, who Foster says was exhausted after the Bulls game.
Injury forces the other change at centre, with Niva Ta'auso replacing Richard Kahui, who re-injured his shoulder last Sunday morning and has flown home. With Bates on the bench and Jono Gibbes recovering from a calf injury at home, Tom Willis will captain the Chiefs.
The Chiefs have lost twice in South Africa already, going down 21-16 to the Stormers in Cape Town, and 30-27 against the Bulls in Pretoria.
