KEY POINTS:
BRISBANE- Former Australia vice captain Morgan Turinui will miss the remainder of the Super 14 rugby season for the Queensland Reds due to a shoulder injury.
Turinui, a center who has played 20 tests for the Wallabies, will undergo a shoulder reconstruction after failing to overcome a lingering problem with the joint, the Reds said Friday.
The former New South Wales Waratah had scans earlier this week after being unable to play either of the Reds' two opening matches in South Africa, both losses.
The 27-year-old Turinui, on a two-year contract with the Reds, hopes to return to play at the beginning of next year.
