"The boys are a bit broken and sore [after defeating the Highlanders 25-22 in Super Rugby] but we're not going to struggle to get up for this game," he said.
Dagg was pleased to get the opportunity to play the Lions. He started his first-class career in 2006, the year after their last tour.
"When it comes around again I'll be an old man sitting on couch with dinner in my lap.
"Northern Hemisphere teams love a kick, so we're preparing for an aerial battle and nullifying the high ball. It might be physical as well, they love a set piece."
Robertson suggested the stakes for the match have gone up after the Blues' 22-16 victory.
"We believe we'll be playing their shadow test team, that's what we're preparing for.
"The Lions will be trying to get their rhythm on a tough tour where they are finding combinations."
"This is something special. We want our boys to express themselves.
Robertson admitted the tour had already generated the rarest of occurrences.
"I don't often cheer the Blues on from down here, but they've had a tough season. The flipside is it might build resolve in the Lions.
"You know when a stadium sells out a couple of months beforehand, it's a big match. We expect them to bring big, physical men. That's half the battle for us.
"With Conor Murray potentially at No.9 they have one of the best box-kickers in the world, and if Owen Farrell plays at No.10, he can kick a ball a mile. That's an accomplished combination which could mix up their structure.
