Veteran test prop Wyatt Crockett will step in for the rested Joe Moody, when the Crusaders take on the Western Force in Christchurch on Friday.
The 34-year-old loosehead has come off the bench in each of his Super Rugby side's four matches this season, making seven tackles and contributing to three unlikely comebacks against the Highlanders, Reds and Blues.
He'll now pull on the No 1 jumper for the visit of the Force, with first-choice test loosehead Moody given a week off. Tim Perry will take Crockett's place on the bench.
"We've got a really deep squad, trust everyone and there's a chance for Joe to go into a little bit of conditioning," Crusaders coach Scott Robertson said. "He's played every game, and the same for Whetu [Douglas]."
Douglas, as implied, will also tale a seat in the stands on Friday, necessitating a Crusaders loose-forward reshuffle. Jordan Taufua will pull on the No 8 jumper in the Garden City, while test lock Scott Barrett will move to blindside flanker.
