The Crusaders have called in reinforcements for next week's Super Rugby match against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.
Midfield back Ryan Crotty, halfback Steve Alfeld, first-five Tom Taylor and fullback Brent Ward will leave for the Republic today after the Crusaders lost four backs to injury in their 20-14 win over the Stormers in Cape Town.
Israel Dagg, Sean Maitland, Kahn Fotuali'i and Adam Whitelock are all returning to Christchurch where they will join Andy Ellis, Brad Thorn, Ben Franks and Sam Whitelock in the Crusaders casualty ward.
The Highlanders also have three new injury concerns.
Winger James Patterson, loose forward Adam Thomson and utility back Siale Piutau all sustained injuries in the loss to the Chiefs.
