Greg Cooper is stepping down as assistant coach of the Blues in rugby's Super 14.
Cooper was set to relocate his family to Auckland in time for next season.
However, during the year, Cooper's youngest daughter became considerably ill and the family has decided it would not be in her best interest to relocate.
He also says part of his reason for moving to Auckland in the first place was to work with David Nucifora, who has also departed as head coach.
