Former Hurricanes and All Blacks legend Conrad Smith is eager to see his former Super Rugby side attempt to win their maiden title this weekend, albiet from a pub on the other side of the world in Europe.
Speaking to Radio Sport, Smith - who captained the Wellington-based side to an unsuccessful home final against the Highlanders last year - admitted he's been struggling to figure out how to watch Super Rugby's showpiece event while overseas, but says he will be watching his former side take on the Lions from a pub in Spain.
"I'll be trying to track down a TV, I'm still working that out as to where I'll be watching it, but it's safe to know that I'll be in front of a TV somewhere watching it," Smith said.
"Of all places, I'm actually going to be across the border in Spain picking up a friend who flies in the night before, so that's why I'm still unsure of where I'll be watching the game, but I will find one.
"I'm sure there's an Irish bar or two that will be screening it."
