SANZAAR's foul play review committee will convene to consider the citing of Bulls prop Conraad van Vuuren over a late swinging arm on Damian McKenzie.
Van Vuuren was shown a yellow card in the loss to the Chiefs, but the citing commissioner believes it met the red card threshold.
Match referee Shuhei Kubo sent the substitute front-rower to the bin with a yellow card as a result of the swinging arm - despite initially contemplating whether he should hand out a red card with the TMO when he first looked at the incident.
After chatting with the TMO, who asked Kubo to look at the incident again and appeared to advise that it wasn't red, the Japanese official changed his mind and van Vuuren was instead sent to the sinbin into the 67th minute.
The South African has been cited for alleged foul play, contravening Law 9.13, which states a player must not tackle an opponent early, late or dangerously.
