KEY POINTS:
Hurricanes hard man Jerry Collins will not see out the team's South African Super 14 rugby programme which ends this week with a match against the Cheetahs.
The blindside flanker suffered bruised ribs against the Bulls and left the field just after halftime in the next match against the Stormers last weekend.
Hurricanes manager Tony Ward said that Collins' ribs were not broken, but were "extremely uncomfortable" after he aggravated the injury against the Stormers.
Collins was to have boarded a flight home yesterday. Under competition rules, the Hurricanes are unable to call on a replacement player.
