New Zealand under-20 teammates Sam Cane and Brodie Retallick have signed two-year Super rugby contracts with the Chiefs.
The pair were part of the world championship-winning New Zealand junior team in Italy earlier this year, and Chiefs coach Dave Rennie said the franchise was pleased to sign the talented youngsters.
Retallick is a 2.04m, 115kg lock who turns out for Hawke's Bay in the national provincial championship while flanker Cane has been featuring for the Bay of Plenty.
"Sam and Brodie were two of the best performers at the under-20 World Cup and we're rapt they have committed to the Chiefs," Rennie said.
"They both have big tickers, a fantastic work ethic and will hopefully wear the Chiefs jersey for many years to come."
