Chiefs coach Dave Rennie has resisted the temptation to give some of his hard-working forwards a rest ahead of Sunday's clash with the Sharks and named largely the same side that beat the Cheetahs 39-33 in Bloemfontein last weekend.
The Chiefs are top of the Super Rugby competition after winning their past six matches and are chasing a franchise-record seventh-consecutive win in Durban this week.
The only changes to the starting side will see young flanker Sam Cane replace Tanerau Latimer who moves to the bench, Asaeli Tikoirotuma start on the left wing in place of Tim Nanai-Williams who is struggling with a groin injury and hookers Mahonri Schwalger and Hika Elliot swap starting positions.
Chief's assistant coach Tom Coventry said: "The Sharks are a traditional South African side, big and strong upfront and a little more belligerent than other sides. They will be keen to take us on in the forward pack so we need to stick to the basics and ensure we focus on our core roles especially in our tight five."
Fullback Andrew Horrell holds his place in the side after impressing in the custodian role last week and leaves Robbie Robinson on the bench.
