Reserve halfback David Bason has added another dimension to the Chiefs injury crisis on the eve of tomorrow night's Super 14 rugby against the Hurricanes at Waikato Stadium.
Bason was today ruled out with a hamstring injury leaving head coach Ian Foster to summon Taranaki's Brett Goodin to Hamilton as Toby Morland's understudy.
Morland was originally the Chiefs second choice halfback but All Black Brendon Leonard sustained a hamstring strain during the 10-7 victory over the ACT Brumbies in Hamilton last Friday.
Bason joins Leonard, prop Ben May and All Blacks centre Richard Kahui on the sidelines.
Goodin played one Super 14 match for the Hurricanes against the Cheetahs in South Africa last year. He has recently been playing for Coastal in the Taranaki senior A club competition.
