A determined Chiefs side is now fully focused on the Waratahs, having learnt a raft of lessons at the hands of the Blues.
The Blues pack dominated the battle up front at Eden Park last Saturday night.
Chiefs assistant coach Craig Stevenson says the Blues had the attitude that they wanted to be more physical and they achieved that. He says it is a good lesson first up.
Stevenson says he is pleased it is happened in round one so they know what is coming.
The Chiefs have added halfback David Bason to their squad as a replacement for the injured Jamie Nutbrown.
