KEY POINTS:
Six changes, partly injury-related, partly to inject fresh legs, have been made to the Chiefs side for their Super 14 match against the bottom-placed Stormers in Cape Town on Saturday.
Dwayne Sweeney returns to fullback in place of Sosene Anesi, whose neck is in a cast for the next six weeks; and Kristian Ormsby, who replaced regular captain Jono Gibbes early in last week's loss to the Hurricanes, starts this week, with Gibbes back in Hamilton nursing a torn calf.
The most interesting selection is at openside flanker, where promising Tanerau Latimer makes his first start for the Chiefs, after coming off the bench in the opening two games.
Latimer replaces Marty Holah, who is on the bench. Latimer made an impact during his time with the Crusaders last year and the 20-year-old from Te Puke has made a favourable impression at the Chiefs too.
"We have been happy with Marty's performance in the first two games," coach Ian Foster said. "But it is time to give Tanerau a start as just reward for his good performances off the bench."
At halfback, Jamie Nutbrown plays revolving doors with Brendon Leonard and gets the start, despite Leonard's lively effort against the Hurricanes.
Foster felt the capable Nutbrown had a raw deal in the opening round loss to the Brumbies, where he was often given poor service by the forwards.
"We felt Jamie didn't get a fair crack at his game against the Brumbies. He is an experienced player at this level and this weekend is a chance to give him an opportunity to show his form with the team having more shape to its game."
Tighthead prop Ben Castle gets his first start of the championship alongside regular hooker Tom Willis and loosehead Simms Davison, who replaces Craig West.
Counties Manukau lock Andrew van der Heijden, in South Africa as cover for injured All Black Keith Robinson, is on the reserves bench.
