KEY POINTS:
Chiefs coach Ian Foster has beefed up his bench for tomorrow night's crucial visit from the Waratahs.
Having watched his side get outgunned by the Blues' hulking battery of mobile locks and loosies in last week's season-opener, Foster has called up Wellington draft players Faifili Levave and Tom Harding.
The pair will be expected to provide extra punch on the fringes of the rucks, an area where the Chiefs struggled against the likes of Jerome Kaino, Kurtus Haiu and Troy Flavell in last week's 32-14 defeat.
Hayden Hopgood is the player to miss out, with Foster opting for a five forwards, two backs split on the bench.
There are also two injury-enforced changes to the Chiefs' starting line-up - All Black halfback Brendon Leonard starts in place of Jamie Nutbrown, who is out for five to six weeks with a knee ligament injury, and wing Soseni Anesi (foot, neck) has been replaced by Viliame Waqaseduadua.
Three of the four starting wingers in the game - Lote Tuqiri, Sitiveni Sivivatu and Waqaseduadua - are Fijian-born.
The Waratahs have named the same team that beat the Hurricanes in Sydney in round one but will initially be without coach Ewen McKenzie, who had a kidney stone removed on Wednesday. He is expected to join the team in New Zealand today. "Running out an unchanged line-up is good for building combinations and confidence," acting coach Todd Louden said.
"It was a good start last week, but our plan is to build each match so we need to step up again against the Chiefs."
Louden described the Chiefs as one of the more dangerous teams in the competition.
"They will be stinging from last week's loss to the Blues, but they showed they can attack from anywhere on the park. With guys like Sivivatu and [Mils] Muliaina in the backline they have the ability to score from anywhere and will keep coming at us for the full 80 minutes, so we need to be right on our game to shut them down."
